If a blood relative gets good results from a medicine, should another one take it?
My family has a history of mental shape problems. I took antidepressants before for my problems and was too sensitive to take them. I had terrible side-effects to them. My grandpa takes one and he has no side-effects so I reckon maybe I should try that one? Will the chance of success increase?

Some types of antidepressants work better for women than men since they need presence of a certain amount of estrogen. You have a lot of choices out there. I’ve taken a few different ones with different results. Some had no side effects at all and worked well. You just have to take time to find the right one at the right dosage.
Everyone’s body and mind answer differently to medication. Let your doctor know which drug your Grampa is taking. It may not even be appropriate for your problem. A fantastic deal of medication for mental illness is based on trial and miscalculation for what is the most successful drug or combination of drugs for that patient. By all means, keep looking if the initially one did not work out. Excellent Luck
my psychiatrist said it doesnt work like that. im on different antidepressants to my mum, and they’re both working for us
